I called my Mother today and it was so good to hear her voice.
She asked the usual questions...
Are you getting enough to eat? Are you eating healthy? Of course I told a BIG lie and said I was eating my veggies instead of the garbage I subject myself to on a daily basis.
She then asked "again" what exactly will I do at my new job (I told her already but I went into more details this time).
Was I applying daily sunscreen? I was on my laptop at the pool and yes, I was covered in SPF 15.
When are you visiting us in the States? We miss you and so on... Then the lecture about flying Business First...That I better fly economy this time and not waste my money! That will never happen. I hate to fly as much as I love to travel. I want to sleep the entire time in comfort. Last time I flew Qatar Airways to JFK and they rock!
What shocked me is that my Mother then proceeded to tell me she went to see Sex and the City 2 with her girlfriend’s opening night. Huh? That's totally not fair I replied. Plus I can't see her watching that movie. I am sure it was her friend's idea. Then she gave me a 15 minute lecture on how I better not see the movie. How awful it was... I explained how it's not allowed in Kuwait and that I would have to wait on the DVD copy that could arrive any day now. She raised her sweet, little voice and said I wasn't allowed to see it. That she forbid me to view it. That it's offensive to Muslims! How relieved she is that it isn't in Kuwait and how I better not even order the DVD through the mail. That it might get me in trouble since it is so offensive to Muslims. She went on and on about Samantha and how insulting the movie was to all women. (Especially Muslim women.) Wow, I didn't expect that today!
Has anyone seen the movie yet in the US or UK? What are your thoughts?
