The Ugly American
This new trend is shocking and disturbing. In less than a month three Americans were arrested for possession and dealing drugs in Kuwait. Are they freaking crazy??? Nobody could be that stupid! Aren't they making enough money with their employment in Kuwait? Don't they realize if caught that they are basically screwed and could hang? This isn't America and I would be dead afraid of ending up in a Kuwaiti jail or dangling from the end of a rope.
I hope that Kuwait realizes that most Americans here respect and abide by their laws. I’m ashamed of these people and I feel embarrassed by their actions. I only hope that if they are guilty they will be punished to the full extent of the law.
I don’t believe in the death penalty for drugs but I hope they are tough enough to show that this kind of behavior isn’t tolerated in Kuwait. One of the suspects is a Grandmother and one of my former co-workers knows her. What was she thinking? She has a good job here and makes plenty of money. What will she tell her grandchildren?
Ugly Americans, please don’t ruin living in Kuwait for the rest of us. You are a minority and you need to pack your bags and get the heck out of Kuwait. This kind of behavior could get all of us kicked out of this country and cost us our jobs.
